I have been tutoring students of all ages for the past 10 years. In that time, I have learned that all students have a passion for learning. However, they may not necessarily know that, or be able to express it in the 'normal' method of education. My goal has always been to encourage this passion. To that end, I work with my student to find the teaching method that works best for them, whether it is lecturing, working by example, or simply drawing out the concepts. I also personalize my lessons to the student's interest, so that they stay engaged, and are able to remember the lesson better. As I stated earlier, I have been tutoring for the last 10 years. I have experience with students from the age of 6, up through college age students. My main specialties are math and science, at all levels with some experience in grade school level English and writing.
Hi! My name is Praneel. I'm currently a research fellow in orthopedic surgery at Rothman Orthopedics, completing a gap year before matriculating to Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in 2027. I earned my undergraduate degree at Penn State as part of the Penn StateSKMC 7-Year BS/MD Program, minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I scored a 1560 on the SAT and am also a certified EMT both experiences that sharpened how I break down complex material and stay calm and structured under pressure, which shapes how I tutor today. My passion for tutoring started with my own college application process, where I found essay writing and self-presentation genuinely exciting. That led me to start helping other students do the same. I founded my own college consulting practice, guiding students through brainstorming, drafting, and revising personal statements and supplemental essays to help them find an authentic voice rather than a generic one. I focus primarily on biology, chemistry, SAT prep, and college essays, subjects I've studied deeply through my pre-med track and genuinely enjoy teaching. My approach is responsive and structured. For biology and chemistry, I break dense material into clear, intuitive concepts instead of rote memorization. For SAT prep, I build individualized study plans targeting each student's specific gaps. For essays, I help students find the stories only they can tell and sharpen the writing around that idea. I'm available between sessions for questions and treat every student's goals as a shared project. Feel free to reach out anytime to ask questions or schedule a lesson!
I was accepted to Sidney Kimmel Medical School (class of 2025) on 10/15/20 at Thomas Jefferson University after obtaining my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Notre Dame in May 2016. With that said, I will dedicate the same quality of care to my students as I would to my future patients. To me, tutoring is mainly about cultivating a passion to learn in the student so that they are able to achieve their ultimate goal. Accordingly, my approach to tutoring is not merely to cram facts into your brain, but also focus on organization by establishing a plan during our first session. If this is what you are looking for, I sincerely look forward to working with you. Thank you, Ning Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nzhou48/

I graduated from Jefferson University with a Bachelor's degree in science in Accounting. I volunteered in the learning Lab when I was at College to help students in Accounting and French to thank other tutors and teachers who were there when I needed help. Also, I have private clients in Mathematics, Economics, GED subjects and elementary school courses. In addition, I have experience working with students with disabilities. I am most passionate of teaching French, my native language, because I like to see students learning new language. Beside that, Accounting is a subject that I am always inspired to teach. Helping students and creating in them the inspiration to solve learning issues make me happy! I like to use many examples to demonstrate the courses for a good understanding of the subjects. During my free time, I enjoy reading books to improve myself, playing with my children, traveling and running.
Hi there! I'm Sam and I am a recent college grad and a current student at Jefferson University within the College of Biomedical Sciences. I love science and have a background in general biology, chemistry, as well as psychology.
I've been both learning and teaching my whole life! My studies are interdisciplinary, and I have a love for both the creative and the analytical, so I'm available to tutor a wide variety of subjects. I'm currently wrapping up my Bachelor of Architecture and starting my Masters in Urban Design. I'm originally from eastern Europe, but grew up and went to school in New York. I've learned and taught in 3 different states, where I've gotten familiar with a wide variety of curriculums and standardized tests. Teaching is very rewarding task, as figuring out a unique approach to each individual student's success is what drives me.
I think it is important to know that students tutored by me not only receive help understanding key concepts in their courses but improved studying habits that will assist them in their future academic endeavors. I have been an advocate for the advancement and growth STEM education since my freshman year of undergrad. I've found one of the best ways to enhance STEM education is to make sure students understand key concepts and receive quality assistance outside the classroom in the form of tutoring. I am a graduate student that was recently accepted to Thomas Jefferson University's doctorate program in "Genetics, Genomics and Cancer Biology" after completing my Bachelors of Science in "Molecular and Cell Biology" at Florida Atlantic University. I have won numerous awards for academic excellence and scientific research as an undergraduate student, which can be seen in detail on my Curriculum Vitae upon request. I have tutored biomedical sciences coursework ranging from general biology to Cancer biology, and privately tutored high school students over the years in biology courses. As a tutor I am focused on maximizing a student's strengths, while directly targeting weaknesses in subject material and studying habits during our time together.

I graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in biology, and then obtained an MD (Doctor of Medicine) and a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology and Structural Biology from Thomas Jefferson University. I am currently a resident physician at Northwestern Hospital. My favorite part about teaching is trying to convey to my students how I think through a problem and adapting that to their learning process. I think I am talented at helping people understand topics by explaining each step, as necessary, to demonstrate how to go about solving a problem. My education has provided me with expertise in the biological sciences, medicine, math, statistics, english, writing, and test preparation, among other subjects. I have experience teaching and tutoring people from elementary school through medical school and graduate school. I would be thrilled to help you achieve your goals!
When I was a high school student at Central High in Philadelphia, I struggled with some of the concepts in AP Chemistry, Biology and Math. It took me years of studying to understand that, sometimes it can really help to have the material presented in alternative ways. Having learned that, I sought help from various sources -- sometimes other people, sometimes other books, videos or materials -- and was able to overcome these hurdles. Now a laboratory manager and technician in a leading neuroscience laboratory in Philadelphia with a Master's Degree in Pharmacology, I'm interested in helping students as they work through their own struggles to grasp key concepts in their math and science courses. With a strong background in writing, and years of experience tutoring writing skills at Penn State University and as the new editor of Philly's Two.One.Five Magazine, I am also available to help students develop their writing and composition skills.
After finishing undergrad, I did research in the Departments of Development Neuroscience & Pediatrics at the Columbia University Medical Center. I completed my premedical requirements at the Bryn Mawr College post-baccalaureate premedical program. I am currently getting my Masters in Public Health at Thomas Jefferson University and will begin medical school at Jefferson in 2013. Having been a mentor and tutor with a handful of organizations, I am able to engage with students of all levels. I look forward to working with you!
