I am currently in Pharmacy School at the University of Colorado - Denver. I'm in my third year and could not be more excited to start my career as a Pharmacist! Before attending Pharmacy School, I graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Biochemistry. Obviously the sciences are where my tutoring strengths lie, especially in Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology. Don't be fooled, though! I'm also great with English, essay writing, and grammar. Plus, I'm a not-so-secret history buff, especially when it comes to European History. I've also got quite a bag of tricks when it comes to study tips, organization, and balancing studying with life.I got my start in tutoring during my undergraduate studies at DU. I was a camp counselor with a summer camp for high schoolers. The camp focused on Chemistry and Math. Afterwards, I taught PCAT review classes. My personal tutoring style involves pieces of the Socratic method; I use questions and the student's knowledge of the subject to walk through a subject piece by piece. I am patient and always willing to approach a problem from a new angle if the original approach isn't quite working. When I'm not in class, I spend a lot of time outdoors in this beautiful city I call home. I love to run and recently purchased a road bike. I think a triathlon might be in my near future! I also love to cook, adore coffee, and spend a lot of time reading. Thanks for reading, and I hope to meet you soon!

As a teacher, I am passionate about supporting students' critical thinking and communication skills. I strive to help students discover and refine their unique, writerly voices, and communicate their ideas more clearly and effectively. In working with students, I try to meet them where they are at in their learning journey and encourage their growth by offering new ideas and ways of thinking about topics. My primary strength is in formal, academic writing: I was published twice as an undergraduate, and I continue to work toward publications in my graduate career. However, I'm able to adjust to whatever writing style fits the needs of the project at hand.
Hola!I am currently a Spanish and English teacher in North Denver and love working one-on-one with students of all ages.I believe that all types of people are "language people" because it is one of the few things we all have in common- our need to talk! By getting to know you, your interests, and your needs I will do my best to change my lessons to fit your specific needs. My current students have voted me teacher of the year twice, so no worries about getting along with me. I also received Network teacher of the year, so you can trust I know what I'm doing! Please reach out if you have any questions. Looking forward to working with you!
I love helping students find how to use their interests and passions to succeed in areas that challenge them. I have experience working with students from elementary age to college age, in a variety of subjects. I love to write, read, and learn about history and cultures - so if those are areas you struggle with, or want someone to geek over them with you, I'm here to help :)When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy hiking, exploring new places (like New Mexico - where I recently moved!), and watching the new hot thing on Netflix!

Education is the great equalizer for the next generation of youth. Nothing ensures children having limitless opportunities and the ability to live a fulfilling life in reaching their goals and dreams as with a quality education. Not all students learn the same way at the same speed. Thus, differentiating the type of instructional techniques and methods is essential. If students are not understanding key concepts and informational skills currently, then they need a new approach that will match their unique learning style and multiple intelligence. Understanding how a child learns and what approaches they respond to is essential for a tutor. Also, understanding where the students strengths, abilities, and deficiencies are is also imperative for the tutor. Once the type of learner has been established and the level at where the student is at, the tutor then uses a tool box of techniques to match their skills and needs with the instruction.Achievement and growth are then measured and learning rates are determined, then reflection from the tutor is used to determine if the instruction is the right type and if it is being delivered in the right way. Afterwards adjustments are made in real time. At this point a tutor will challenge the student at the highest level possible that requires so feedback and guidance from the tutor without frustrating the student too much but ensures growth and achievement results. This is my philosophy of how a tutor should work with students who need additional remediation and assistance filling in gaps of knowledge and understanding.
I have a undergraduate degree in music, accounting, and an MBA in Finance and Computer Science. I've taught finance and computer science at the college / university level. I've tutored students in math, computer science, software applications, finance, accounting, and photography. On the side I do professional photography.I enjoy teaching all age ranges. My goal is to make the topic interesting and find a way to help the student want to learn and understand it. We will work at your pace and make sure you understand the topic.I enjoy math and continue to study many different topics in math. I've helped students test out of pre-calculus so they could go from algebra and straight into calculus. Math can be fun and interesting.
Hi, I'm Rhonda, and I love helping students master literature and composition. I can help students improve their performance in virtually every class by enhancing their motivation and desire to learn. All it takes is one good teacher ... one good tutor, and one really good book suggestion, something suggested by someone who really SEES into the student. I can pick that book that turns a resistant, reluctant reader into an avid one--like magic. That's because this is what I am meant to do. I am also an awesome former entrance committee member who can help you get into the school of your dreams because I know what they want to see in that application packet.
I believe that any student can achieve their goal with hard work and dedication. Too often in school it is easy for us become frustrated. The obstacles we face can seem insurmountable and the progress we are making nonexistent. However, if we apply ourselves with vigor we are always learning more than we know and making better progress than we suspect. Each student has it within themselves to succeed.I am a PhD student in Politics at the University of Virginia. I came to graduate school because of love of learning and teaching. Learning and teaching are really two sides of the same coin. To learn something new and not to impart it to anyone is empty, while teaching without learning is meaningless. Before I started graduate school I taught English and related subjects to college students in China for five years. Living and working abroad, as well as teaching abroad, was an amazing experience which helped me learn how to deal with a wide variety of situations. I hope that we can work together to realize your educational goals.
