I have a BA degree in Math and an MS degree in Math Education, both from Lehman College. I worked for Honeywell International for 25 years. Half on my time at Honeywell, I was a technical trainer, teaching programming courses and operating system courses. I taught customers in the United States and from different countries. The other half of my time, I was a software test engineer. I retired from Honeywell in 2003.In 2003, I joined Everest College Phoenix. I teach math both on ground and online. In 2015, I joined Brown Mackie College and Grand Canyon University. In November, I will be married to my lovely wife, Sharon, for 47 years. I have two sons, Andrew and Mathew. Andrew is an oncologist. He is married and has two children, Benjamin and Lexie, who are 13 and7 years old, respectively. My younger son, Mathew, is an aspiring pharmacist with an MS degree in Psychology. Both Andrew and Mathew graduated from the University of Arizona for their undergraduate education. We have two cats, Pebbles and Sprinkles. I am looking forward to working with you this term.

I have been a highly skilled middle school science teacher for the past three years in New York City public schools. I have 3 years of teaching experience, I am a certified Special Education teacher in the City of New York. I have a bachelor of arts in History from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and i also have a Master of Science in Special Education from Lehman College. My GPA average at Lehman was a 3.4 upon graduation. After graduating, I had also intended on going back to school for nursing, so I took a few prerequisite courses in order to qualify for the program. I completed Anatomy and Physiology I&II, Organic Chemistry, and Microbiology. My non-matriculate GPA is a 3.6. I have taught in the south Bronx, the north Bronx, and most recently in Yonkers Public Schools.Yonkers Public Schools has a program funded by the city that allows for in home tutoring to be made available to students who were either displaced from school for some reason or students who are new to the district. I was a tutor in this program for two years, and I had complete and utter success. I had one student that had a brain operation that was out of school for 3 months from April until the end of the year. We studied together 3 times a week for her Global History Regents Exam and she passed her exam with a 92 - highest in the district in ages.I take excessive pride in building relationships with my students and their families. It allows the teaching process to be that much easier when everyone in the room has a sense of accountability. I'm a Business graduate from Lehman College with concentrations in Accounting and Finance. Since graduating I have worked mainly in the finance industry. I am a recent college graduate and hopeful medical student looking to provide tutoring in math, chemistry (general and organic) and physics, from the middle school level up to the undergraduate level. As a volunteer tutor for Reading Partners, I helped students in grades 5-8 strengthen their literacy skills. I tutored students at the Science Learning Center at Lehman College. Here I assisted students in the areas of general and organic chemistry for nursing and science majors, as well as general physics. From this experience I earned a CRLA (College Reading & Learning Association) Level II Tutor Certification. I also held biweekly Supplemental Instruction workshops for both semesters of general chemistry, organic chemistry, and general physics, in which I worked closely with the instructor to develop session plans and questions to teach the students to think critically and become independent learners. Since the age of 16, I've worked with children starting out as a mother's helper to working as a waitress at Friendly's. At a young age, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher. I have worked in positions as a substitute teacher and special educator while I pursued my studies leading up to a Master's degree in Elementary Education. I am 24 years old, and I am a former 7th grade math teacher in the Bronx. I have a deep passion for math, and I was fortunate enough to be able to major in it in college.
