Hello! My name is Doug and I am currently a student at Princeton Seminary. I graduated with a B.A. in History and Biblical Studies (double major) in Dec 2013 from Grove City College. After graduating, I worked as a museum teacher in the historic-industrial city of Lowell, MA where I taught a variety of programs that highlighted both historical and scientific aspects of the Industrial Revolution. Through this job, I learned the importance of "hands-on" activities in helping convey complex ideas in tangible ways. This job also provided opportunities for me to develop techniques that would help engage students' attention with a topic that they may or may not be interested in. During this time, I was also a youth intern at my church, working and teaching kids ranging from pre-K to high school. Working with such a wide range of kids taught me how to be flexible with presenting my teaching materials and how to relate with kids from all different stages and walks of life.While I have the most experience teaching history and religious studies, I am also comfortable teaching other topics (math, science, etc.) for elementary and middle school students. I have a passion to teach and work with kids at all levels. I think it's crucial in teaching to personally know the student and then adapt the lesson so that it best fits the student's personality and learning style.I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know your student to best support and encourage their growth through learning.

My name is Robert. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but I moved to the South Florida area to attend law school at the University of Miami. I did very well on the LSAT, and I chose UM because they offered me a full scholarship! I have a lot of experience teaching and tutoring. Not only have I tutored young people in standardized testing situations (LSAT, ACT, and SAT). I have also tutored and instructed adult learners in various scenarios. I have experience teaching English-as-Second Language to students hoping to pass the citizenship test here in the United States. I have also instructed youth in success workshops and public speaking seminars for my youth-based leadership non-profit organization. Personally, I have a passion for the learning process, and I believe that my greatest calling in life is to help connect people with great opportunities. I am a graduate of Grove City College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in French K-12 Education and I am certified to teach PreK-12 French in the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland. As an undergraduate and graduate, I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience. In college, I tutored college students as a member of the highly selective World Languages honorary Alpha Mu Gamma for one year. As a student teacher, I taught years 1-4 (AP) of French for a semester and as a professional teacher, I taught years 1-6 (AP) of French. During this time, I offered individual tutoring to students almost every day. On top of my qualifications, I am passionate about France's language and culture, as well as being an effective instructor. I make all of my lessons interactive and fun, but, more importantly, informative and with many opportunities to practice speaking, writing, reading, and listening. In addition, I make sure to include cultural tidbits that I learned from communicating with French speakers and from my own experiences studying in France. I am a firm proponent of learning foreign languages, believing it to be one of the most enriching subjects someone can learn, and I attempt to impart this belief to every student I teach. My hobbies include corresponding with my French friends, volleyball, running, and discussing music.

There is a solution to every problem. Problem solving is an integral part of life in a world full of unknowns and changes. As a math student, I have seen the value of mathematics as a tool for problem solving. It sharpens our minds to understand multiple ways to arrive at a solution. It helps us to think through a system logically and efficiently. It challenges us and strengthens our thought processes. I am searching for new opportunities to help students excel at problem solving, particularly in mathematics, to develop a passion for problem solving, or maybe just to learn something new and fun about math.

I graduated from Grove City College in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Spanish. During my senior year I tutored Spanish for lower-level Spanish students for hour-long sessions twice a week, focusing on comprehension and mastery of vocabulary and grammatical concepts. I have had success in helping high school and college level students who were failing their Spanish courses to achieve passing grades.In high school, I took both AP US History and AP European History, so I have firsthand experience with those course materials.

I'm a substitute teacher and MAT student in Secondary Biology, and I love helping students "get" science. I believe all students can succeed with the right tools! I help students understand science in a simple, stress-free wayespecially if they're feeling stuck or behind. I prioritize breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable pieces, adapting to different learning styles, and creating a supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions. I bring energy, encouragement, and a little humor because learning works best when it's engaging and approachable.

I have earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and I have 16 years of experience teaching all levels. I love teaching elementary grade students in any subject and reading is my specialty. I love the experience of helping a child to discover their own love of reading. I have a gentle yet goal oriented approach to learning and I enjoy leading students to develop their skills through their own unique learning styles. When I'm not teaching, my favorite pastime is spending time with my husband and our three children who are now young adults. I enjoy reading, yoga, kayaking, hiking, crafting, and cooking. I am a current senior biology-health student at Grove City College, hoping to become a Physician Assistant. I love helping people learn more about subjects that I find interesting and am passionate about like math, biology, and chemistry. I have taken math courses through Calculus III, chemistry courses from General Chemistry I through Organic Chemistry I, and biology courses from General Biology I through Anatomy and Physiology. I was a TA for a genetics course and am familiar with courses like cell biology, immunology, and the biology of cancer.

I'm a poet, editor, teacher, and painter, and I recently earned my MFA in Creative Writing at BU. I currently teaching writing - creative and academic- at Boston University and at Summer Ink, a Simmons University program. During my time at BU, I taught creative writing courses at both the undergraduate and pre-college level. For my undergraduate degree, I studied both English and Education, earning my English Secondary Teaching Certificate in Pennsylvania. After graduating, I moved to Budapest to teach history, art, writing, and music for three years. During my fourth year in Hungary, I trained interpreters for the EU and taught literature, philosophy, and rhetoric in an American high school. I've had a lot of experience teaching ESL and preparing students for the IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge English Exams, and I use engaging, innovative methods which are tailored to the interests and needs of each student.

I am passionate about learning and encouraging students' on their path of learning. I enjoy working with students to identify areas of struggle and find strategies that work for them. I have more than a decade of experience researching and teaching in history, communication studies, international relations, and comparative politics. I have a great deal of experience working with students on a variety of written assignments.

I majored in biology at Grove City College, PA and Cleveland State University, OH. I majored in zoology at Ohio State. My degrees are BS, MS, and PhD. My teaching began while I was earning my advanced degrees, and I enjoyed it so much that I am still teaching biology classes at Tri-C. Classes I have taught include Anatomy and Physiology, Ecology, and General Biology. My favorite subject is ecology because I can study outdoors in forests and streams. I teach the way that I was taught by my favorite teacher. He made the students feel comfortable and made learning fun. I like to describe subjects in ways that make it interesting to the student. I am passionate about learning and I love to share this passion with my students. I love walks in the woods where I can discover new things while I enjoy nature. I also love to read, especially science fiction and fantasy.

In 2017, I graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (PreK-4th) and Special Education (PreK-8th). During my field work in college, I had the opportunity to tutor and teach a wide range of ages and abilities, anywhere from preschool aged students to students with reading challenges and even students with Multiple Disabilities. I am currently serving in my second year as a PreK teacher and I am loving it! I cherish the joy and excitement that children exhibit over my lessons. My favorite subject to tutor is Elementary reading. There is nothing better in teaching than when a student recognizes a letter or when he or she can decipher a new word! I am a strong believer that learning should be fun, accessible, and relate to a student's background knowledge. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, fishing, cooking, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Chinese studies from Grove City College, as well as a TEFL certification from a program with Teachers College of Columbia University. I have spent 10 years in the education field teaching subjects such as language, social studies, professional writing, critical thinking, public speaking, and cross-cultural communication. Teaching throughout the UK, US, Cambodia, and China has allowed me to instruct a range of students with a range of strengths. From assisting with math lessons at a primary school in England, to teaching reading analysis skills to university students in Cambodia, I have successfully honed the skills and strategies needed to help students reach their academic goals in a variety of subjects.In my other professional roles as editor, curriculum designer, and copywriter, I have had the opportunity to create world-class teaching materials that both inspire and instruct students. READING BACKGROUNDWith nearly a decade of experience in education, I have earned my permanent certification as a reading specialist, my permanent teaching certification for English 7-12, and my official Wilson Reading System certification. As an on-staff reading specialist, I have the additional responsibility of aligning our school's curriculum with PA Core Standards and ensuring all curriculums utilize reading interventions. I have 5 years of data analysis experience, and several years of experience diagnosing disordered readers. As a member of the International Literacy Association, I work patiently and encouragingly with students across a wide range of academic abilities. My professional goal is to develop my students' self-efficacy and growth mindset.MATHEMATICS BACKGROUNDI was identified as gifted in mathematics in elementary school and took college mathematics courses while I was still in middle school. Although my personal passions have developed into the reading specialist realm, I have a strong propensity for mathematics all the way into the realm of Calculus. When taking my PRAXIS teaching certification exam to teach high school, I was in the top 10% of all test takers in both the reading and mathematics components. I have previously tutored students in Trigonometry and Statistics, and I have a multitude of experiences tutoring in Algebra and Geometry as well.

With a background in Computer Science and a passion for teaching, I've dedicated 8 years to tutoring Math and Music Theory. My journey started in high school, where I thrived in math and began helping friends and family, which deepened my own understanding. I graduated from Grove City College, attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
