I bring over 40 years experience teaching and directing children's experiential learning programs to tutoring your child online or virtually providing at-home classes. I hold permanent New York State Birth - Grade 6 teaching certification and I recently received a Master's in Education from LeMoyne College in Syracuse. As a tutor or remote teacher I will use my dedication to finding your child's individual learning style. My approach is positive and encouraging. By learning about your child's interests and unique personality I will craft activities which ensure ownership in the learning process. I consider both you, your child, and other educators/support persons (when applicable) as partners in your child's success. Most recently, in conjunction with the Syracuse City School District, I directed Erwin PreSchool, a quality early childhood program, and I served as an Early Childhood Specialist, working closely with the director, the district, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten teachers to ensure best practices. During COVID, I was privileged to not only support teachers while they conducted lively virtual learning, but I actually led many sessions myself. Generating enthusiasm for the learning progress, skillful individualization, experience in many education areas, and a pleasant, encouraging manner are among what I will provide. As a partner in your child's learning, you can expect my professional and friendly collaboration with what/how I teach, scheduling, and anything else.

I am very passionate about the German language and culture and I am eager to ignite this passion in others. I began studying German at age 12 in middle school and went on to complete a BA degree at the State University of New York at Oswego. I subsequently completed a Masters degree through Middlebury College and was able to study in Berlin, Germany during this time. I believe in taking an academic as well as cultural approach to language learning, so that the language can truly "come alive" in the mind of the student.
I am a recent graduate from the State University of New York at Oswego with a BA in Spanish and minors in both French and International Business.During my years at Oswego, I spent a lot of my time getting involved with the Modern Languages Department and finding opportunities to work with the language firsthand. In my sophomore year, I reintroduced the chapter of the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society on my campus and became president of the society that same year. In my junior year of college, I studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Salamanca for a semester. This past summer, I worked with many native Spanish-speakers from Mexico, Argentina and Spain at Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota.I also have ample experience in tutoring and teaching. In my second year at Oswego, I worked for the Office of Learning Services as a Spanish and French tutor and was a Teaching Assistant for an elementary French class. During this time, I would frequently meet up with students both in groups and one-on-one sessions and work with them in a way that met their learning needs. My philosophy as a tutor has always been to create a comfortable learning environment for my students and build their confidence in speaking the target language. Foreign language has always been a passion of mine, and I am excited to work with students to help them achieve their goals with the language!

A kind hearted, friendly, professional and experienced tutor. I am extremely passionate about education, I find that working with students to achieve their goals to be personally satisfying and beneficial. I am a great communicator and listener, and have the ability to understand a student's needs.
With all of the experience that I have acquired over the years, I have become very good at individualizing lessons based on a student's personal needs. Not every student learns in the same way, and for that reason a tutor must always try to discern which methods work best with any given student, in order to ensure that they tailor each student's instruction to whatever best matches that student's learning style.I have been teaching for three years, and am currently working as a curriculum designer for an English as a Second Language Publisher. Prior to that I worked as a private tutor.

I'm a graduate of the SUNY Oswego where I earned both my BS and MS degrees in chemistry and Rutgers University Graduate School where I received my Ph. D., also in chemistry. I have eighteen years of experience as a research scientist and seventeen years of experience as a high school and college level science teacher.I have taught chemistry, physics and environmental science at all levels including CP, Honors, AP and Dual enrollment. I have also taught IB Chemistry and IB Physics (SL and HL). In addition, I have tutored Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. However, chemistry was my first love and it remains my favorite subject to teach.I have always loved science. But what I enjoy most is helping young people learn. I believe what I do best is to help students understand the physical world that surrounds them. When I teach I focus on short lessons followed by "hands-on" student activities to reinforce the lesson. When I'm not teaching I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, golf and cross-country skiing.
My name is Kenneth; many people call me Kenny. I have always had a passion for Education. Once I graduated from Oswego State University with my Bachelor's, I have worked as a substitute teacher, teen travel counselor, tutor, and teacher assistant with Head Start. Tutoring has always brought me joy and that is why I continue to do it now. For the past two years, I worked as a tutor who provided instruction in Math. Even though my background primarily deals with elementary-aged students, I have worked with older students as well. As a field practicum student and student teacher, I saw how many students struggle with Math and are taught to memorize rather than understand a topic/concept. That is why as a tutor, I take my job seriously and understand the importance of helping our students strive for excellence.

Even more so, I believe that sharing the wealth of knowledge is a great human priority, which then manifests as exponential growth within communities. My passion for education became evident when I was given the opportunity to be a Teaching Assistant for my Anatomy and Physiology course in my undergraduate studies.
