A computer science undergraduate student, set to graduate in May 2019 with honors! Attended one of the top universities in the world and I know what it is needed to not only get in but also thrive there. I love working with people and after living in multiple cities, I have picked up on languages such as French, Spanish, and many other cultures. I am open minded, flexible, and can tailor tutoring services according to your needs, whether that means just guiding students through homework or teaching concepts from the very beginning.

I am a retired teacher after thirty years of teaching Reading Recovery, Title One Reading, Reading Intervention, ESL and Dyslexia. My children are grown and my grandchildren are now learning how to read and write. That should have been enough for most people but,I found I have a skill to help children overcome the life- altering disability with difficulty in reading and writing. I have seen them suffering and their parents frustrated and scared. These children have a good ability to learn. They have many talents and unique contributions to share. They just need appropriate help. They have novel ways of acquiring knowledge. Since I am uniquely qualified in the complete range of reading differences, I can help serve children and a wide variety of approaches.Early identification and treatment are the keys to helping children grow in school and in their lives. Let me help you help your child. End the suffering now!

I enjoy working with elementary students so they can learn their full potential. I have worked with special education and general education students in an elementary school setting. I like to teach the core subjects and watching the student light up when they have learned something new is the best part about teaching! I have also taught social and communication skills.

I have been teaching and tutoring LSAT prep for over ten years. I have a Bachelor's in English from the University of Dallas, a JD from Boston College Law School, a second Bachelor's in Music from Texas Woman's University, and a master's in Musicology (music history) from the University of North Texas. I practiced law for a little more than five years, first in Massachusetts, then in Texas (yes, I took and passed both bar exams the first time). I practiced predominately Immigration law, and left the practice of law because of a medical condition. When I stopped practicing is when I returned to school for my music degrees and started teaching. I love the LSAT because I think the questions are all fun puzzles and I can see the connections between the questions and skills I used as a lawyer. I enjoy working with students to help them find the tweaks to their thinking that help them work efficiently and accurately. I approach the material through dialogue with the student so that I can learn how the student sees the material and work together to identify key aspects of the test questions and how to distinguish right answers from wrong answers.

Teaching has always been a passion and interest of mine. I love to watch students grow and see their excitement for learning new things. Through my enthusiasm and attitude, I hope to share with my students my passion for education and instill lifelong learners. I have experience working with several elementary-aged students. I graduated from Texas Woman's University and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education. I am licensed to teach Early Childhood-6th grade. I also obtained my English as a Second Language certification. While attending school, I worked several jobs where I was able to work with students of all ages. I observed and worked in different classrooms and created and implemented different academic material. After graduating, I was hired at a local elementary school where I have taught 1st grade for the past three years. The subjects I will be offering to tutor are all elementary core subjects including math, reading, writing, phonics, science, and social studies (pre-K- 6th grade). I look forward to working with your child!
