My degree is in mathematics but I also have a minor in statistical methods. I am also well versed in the Python programming language.In the past I have worked with college students struggling in early mathematics courses such as trigonometry, algebra and elementary statistics. While at my university I also worked with adult students pursuing a GED.Ultimately, mathematics is not about memorizing formulas but about the logical process of arriving at a conclusion. Ideally, my job will consist of reminding the student of the tools at their disposal and they will make the leap themselves towards their desired answer. This ability to think about problems is not limited to mathematics and, if mastered, will stay with the student for the rest of their lives.Aside from mathematics I enjoy playing my piano. I'm a recent graduate of Truman State University with a degree in economics. I discovered my major later in my college career, so I'm intimately familiar with what it's like to pick up new subjects quickly to get up to speed.
